Plug and play kit for dropping a 2022+ FA24 into 1st generation FRS/86/BRZs. Allows you to run FA24 motor on an unmodified FA20 engine harness and FA20 ECU (tuning required, CSG recommended).
17-20 kit includes:
- Oil temperature sensor adapter
- Coolant temperature sensor adapter
- Evap purge solenoid adapter
- Crankshaft position sensor adapter
In addition to these harnesses, 17-20 swap requires:
- Modified FA20 engine mounts + shorter bolts
- Transferring 17-20 fuel pressure sensor to FA24
- Transferring 17-20 direct injection ECU and fuel rail cover to FA24
- Brake booster vacuum pump lines
For details on vacuum line routing, DI ECU mounting, and engine mount modification, see relevant sections in 2013 swap guide linked at bottom of page.
13-16 kit includes:
- Oil temperature sensor adapter
- Coolant temperature sensor adapter
- Evap purge solenoid adapter
In addition to these harnesses, 13-16 swap requires:
- RS Motors crankshaft reluctor wheel
- RS Motors crank position sensor bracket
- FA20 crank position sensor
- RS Motors fuel pressure sensor (this will require crimping some wiring and is not currently possible to make plug and play)
- FA20 alternator + modification of alternator mounting points (RS Motors kit may eventually include a bracket eliminating this need)
- RS Motors camshaft reluctor wheels
- Modified FA20 engine mounts + shorter bolts
- Brake booster vacuum pump lines
- Transferring 13-16 direct injection ECU and fuel rail cover to FA24
- For 2013/2014 cars, your FA20 engine harness must be adapted to use the revised 2015+ coil packs. I will eventually have adapters available as part of this kit but at the moment you will need to source them elsewhere if using a 2013/2014 harness. You can also just switch to a 2015 or 2016 engine harness - if you go this route, please ensure that you place your order for the year of engine harness you are using, not the year of the car.
See 2013 BRZ FA24 Swap Guide for more details. Huge thanks to Raul Iriarte for documenting this info.
