✞ RIP HACHIMIRRORS 2023-2026 ✞

Hi friendos. After over 3 years of sales, I have had to make the unfortunate decision to discontinue sales of my silly lil refurbished rear view mirrors. There are several reasons for this:

• Hachi Electronics is a much, much larger operation than the side hobby I started in my garage in 2023. It has reached the point where customer demand for mirrors through my site has exceeded the supply of suitable mirrors I am reasonably able to source.
• Refurbishing these mirrors takes a disproportionate amount of labor, space for inventory, and time wasted coordinating returns of unsuitably damaged mirrors to vendors that has not ultimately justified itself as compared to focusing on other tasks.

• Given the unpredictable nature of sourcing used parts, I have frequently struggled to accurately forecast fulfillment times for these mirrors, which has become a major area of customer disappointment. I have also had numerous customers file chargebacks against my store the instant the estimated fulfillment time has passed, without so much as an email asking to cancel, which isn't very cool or fun.

THE PATH FORWARD (maybe)

I have a couple ideas for possible alternative ways to get people the sweet delicious rear view mirrors they crave, as I realize I am leaving a big hole in the market here.

• I can continue selling the wire covers and wiring harnesses that I make in-house (including the international adapter set which isn't something that can be found otherwise) and you can source your own rear view mirror. I can provide guidance for what to look for when trying to find a suitable mirror as needed. This is the easiest one to implement, since I already have everything needed. If you would like to go this route, shoot me an email and I can get you hooked up.
• Selling new in box mirrors at a higher price, but still lower than ordering new from Subaru or Toyota. I know which company OEMs the mirrors and it is possible I could set up a purchasing arrangement with them that allows me to continue selling mirrors at a favorable price point, but this remains to be seen.

if you have read this far, thank you for being the most literate hachi electronics customer. i love you.
